SWOC analysis of the department and Future plans

Strength –

  • Department’s basic strength is well united qualified faculties. We are lucky that we are directly associated and continuously guided by Banaras Hindu University. Today whole world looking towards India for Philosophy of life. In Varanasi intellectual tradition and mental set of the people of city as also create a good environment to philosophy here.

Weakness –

Philosophy is one of the interesting subject in arts faculty at Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya. In this department we run here only UG Course. So we have lesser opportunities than university teachers.

Opportunity –

  • Philosophy is a very important subject which contributes to the nation’s highest competitive exams, teaching at school, college and University level.

Challenges –

  • We need best mind to make learn this fundamental subject but today the best minds are going to study another fields. To face this challenge Philosophy should be a job oriented subject as other popular subjects. An action and planning is required in this regard from higher authorities.
